It’s safe to say that Wahkiakum football experienced the full gamut of 1B football in its firs season playing the 8-man game. The Mules started out the season with three straight losses, including a blowout at the hands of Neay Bay back in Week 1.

Well, after finding their stride and rattling off seven straight wins the Mules saw their season slam shut Friday night with a bookend loss to those same Red Devils in the second round of the 1B football state tournament at Forks High School. Neah Bay wore the Mules down and ran away with a 70-14 victory to turn the season from football to basketball in Wahkiakum County.
