The Naselle softball team came out swinging in the opening round of the 1B State Tournament on Friday. But the Comets were unable to gather outs quickly enough to survive and advance in a 20-10 loss to Dayton at Carlon Park in Selah.

“Well, we pooped it,” interim head coach Kendall Ford said. “Our hitting was good but a few too many walks and some untimely errors hurt us today.”
