TACOMA — Day three of Mat Classic XXXVI was an all-small school affair at the Tacoma Dome, with the best of the best from the 2A through 1B ranks returning to compete beneath the glare of the neon lights for a place on the podium at the WIAA high school State wrestling championships. And it was a full day of triumph for five wrestlers from the Blast Zone who were able to win their brackets and climb to the top of the podium as the new, or repeat, owners of a State title.

State champions from the BZM area include three Castle Rock Rockets, one Kalama Chinook, and a Woodland Beaver.
