With a spot in the 2A District IV Tournament championship on the line, the Woodland girls basketball team was hoping that the second time around with W.F. West would go a little better. It did not.

The Beavers lost to the Bearcats of Chehalis (63-31) way back on opening night of the regular season. And after two and a half months of preparation to make it a closer game, Woodland wound up back on the road and even farther behind in a 67-25 loss, Monday, in Chehalis.

“We know we can play with them, we just can’t give them runs,” Woodland coach Glen Flanagan said. “They’re good and you have to do the little things to stop them. And we didn’t.”
