The Monarchs’ season thus far has seen a steady dose of stiff competition, both near and far against foes both familiar and strange. Monday night in Bill Bakamus Gymnasium was not one of those occasions, but Mark Morris did what it needed to do to in order to dispatch Rochester efficiently in a 68-19 non-league victory.

The hosts shared the basketball early and often amongst one another and used a wolf mentality defense to run up a 25-2 advantage in the first quarter. With that extreme advantage in hand, onlookers were quickly wondering if they might need to move up those Applebee’s dinner reservations by up about thirty minutes or so.

“We are at our best for sure when the basketball is moving, and everyone sort of takes their moments when the defenses try to key on a specific player,” Mark Morris coach Sean Atkins said.
