Hard Knocks — Lassies' season of growth ends with 90-48 loss to Plainsmen

VANCOUVER — You would forgive us for belaboring points. Sometimes it’s necessary. Sometimes that point transcends the facts of the matter. Like right now.
Kelso’s girls basketball team lost its last game of the season by a score of 90-48 — Evergreen hit nearly every shot; it’s no more complicated than that — and the Hilanders finished their campaign with a record of 11-12.
It’s never a good feeling when it comes to an end. But this season, now complete following a run in the 3A bi-District Tournament, illustrates and demonstrates and represents a much more grandiose endeavor.
“Definitely a lot of life lessons,” Kelso senior Tru Bettineski said. “How to work as one. How to take challenges and face them up. We’re all gonna take them into our real lives.”
Let’s go back in time.
