Lassies chasing team, individual titles
Kelso seems to be enjoying the new format at Mat Classic XXXVI after one full day of action. The Lassies sat all alone in first place with a total of 173.5 team points entering Friday. That gave them a 42 point lead over Peninsula in their hunt for a team State title.
The Lassies have advanced six wrestlers to the State semifinals, and have eight of their 17 wrestlers who made the trip still alive on the final day of the season. The medal rounds are set to begin Friday afternoon after the small schools have had an opportunity to get their tournament started.
