Kelso juggles lineup in loss to Skyview
The Hilanders suffered their first loss of the season last week in a 2117-1593 loss to Skyview in a non-league girls bowling match at Triangle Lanes.
Paige Mollyneux rolled a 315 series with a high of 164 in the first game to lead Kelso, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with the Storm.
All five scores from the Storm would have raised the bar for the hosts. The floor for Skyview was 319.
Addy Case paced Skyview with a 473 series that included a single game high of 240 in the first round. Bri Hust finishing second in line with a 380 series on the strength of a 221 in the second game.
“Knowing how tough Skyview can be, and with it being a non-league match, I decided to shuffle bowlers around a little today,” Kelso coach Justin Fugleberg said. “This gave me an opportunity to see how a few of our rotating substitutes can handle bowling on varsity.”
For Kelso, Layla Davenport posted a series score of 284, freshman Addison Gallagher posted a total of 269 and Marissa Wilcox finished on 246.
“Our team continues to bowl well; however, we did struggle to pick our spares and missed some by the slimmest of margins,” Fugleberg noted.
Cayden Price and Allison Harms each found their way into triple digits while bowling one game each for the Hilanders. And in junior varsity action Arianna Long posted a personal-best game of 215.
“Our next match is against another tough team, but if our spare game is on point, we should be able to make it an interesting one,” Fugleberg promised.
Kelso (2-1) will be back in action on Monday on the road against Battle Ground at Tiger Bowl.
