Tigers exact revenge, take league crown

The Clatskanie baseball team took care of business last week against Portland Christian, sweeping the Royals to secure back-to-back 2A/1A Special District 1 championships.

For the Tigers, the sweep carried a little extra meaning.

Portland Christian ended Clatskanie’s 2025 season in the second round of the State playoffs, making this year’s series win feel even more rewarding as the Tigers continue to build momentum toward another postseason run.

“We played very well against Portland Christian,” Clatskanie head coach Ryan Tompkins said. “Our pitching and defense was some of the best we’ve had all season. At the plate, Will Van Voorst, Royal Smart and Cash Doney were able to put together consistent quality at-bats.”
