Ash delivers for Columbians in the clutch

The Rainier baseball team went 1-2 during a three-game week, but the Columbians ended it on a high note with a dramatic 10-9 walk-off win over Corbett on Friday.

After falling 18-1 at No. 5 Warrenton on Monday and 13-3 at Banks on Wednesday, Rainier (8-7) returned home Friday and found a way to close the week with a much-needed win.

Asher Fox delivered the final swing, coming through with a two-out RBI single on a 2-2 count to lift the Columbians past Corbett.

“Glad we got the Corbett one,” Rainier head coach Cole Jackson said. “I have been happy with our resilience in the close games.”
