2A Prep Boys Basketball / Reports

After the Woodland boys basketball team rose as high as No. 1 in the state RPI polls midway through the season, basketball fans around the area spent the rest of the schedule wondering if the Beavers were ahead of schedule – or precisely where they were supposed to be.

It turns out Woodland will require at least one more offseason of seasoning before getting another chance to punch its ticket to the state tournament.

The Beavers saw their breakneck run through the 2025-26 season come to an end this week with back-to-back losses at home in the 2A District IV Tournament. Woodland hosted Tumwater for a semifinal affair on Tuesday, falling 72-63, and then lost to Ridgefield by a score of 70-59 on Thursday in an elimination game at The Den.
