It’s been a whirlwind of a start to the season for the Toledo boys basketball team. The Riverhawks spent the first few weeks of the season playing duck-duck-goose in the gym while the football team played all the way to the State championship game at Husky Stadium. After adding the gridiron stars to the mix, though, the Cheese Town gang has been playing double time to get caught up, and looking good doing it.

Toledo currently sits at 7-3 overall, but has won all five of its Central 2B League contests.

The Riverhawks have played their traditional brand of balanced basketball on offense, but the wheel has revolved around six-foot six-inch senior Cooper Fallon night in and night out.

Fallon, who became the all-time leading shot blocker in school history last season, recently surpassed the 1,000 point mark for his career and has moved into seventh place all-time on the Toledo scoring list. The kid they call “Coop” has passed legendary players like Chad Amrine (901), Aron Wallace (942), Brent Wood (984), Ryan Votaw (1016, Austin Trafalet (1,016), Jason Marty (1,030), and Grant McEwen (1,034) in recent weeks.

And who’s sitting right in front of Cooper Fallon on the All-Time list now? Grady Fallon. His father, and coach.
