— Kelso continued doing Kelso things in Week 2 of the prep football season with a 30-14 win on the road over River RIdge at South Sound Stadium, Friday.

That is to say the Hilanders ran the ball a lot, completed passes when they threw them, and played menacing defense at every turn. That combination of pace and fury limited the Hawks to just 32 offensive plays and six first downs on the night.

“We really controlled the clock,” first-year Kelso head coach Darin Gardner said. “There weren’t a ton of tackles to be made out there, because we just got off the field. It was nice.”
