Weeks, Riverhawks, get creative at Mossyrock

The Toledo football team hasn’t had a whole lot of pushback so far this year, so the Cheese Town bunch is searching for ways to keep things interesting. The Riverhawks made it five straight wins to start the season with a 43-6 victory at Mossyrock on Thursday, and that actually brought their scoring average down to 49.2 points per game.

“We were pretty clean in the first half. I thought we were really efficient offensively,” Toledo head coach Mike Christensen said. “Overalll it was good game. Not a lot of complaints.”

And that’s true. The Riverhawks scored on eight of their 12 plays from scrimmage in the first half.

And how did Toledo get creative against the Vikings? Well, not only did quarterback Eli Weeks rush for a pair of touchdowns and throw a pair of touchdowns, but he also caught a 2-point conversion pass for good measure.
