BROOKLYN — Missing your starting quarterback is one thing. Add on your star tailback, who suffered an injury in a Week 3 loss to Chief Leschi, and that’s two dynamic playmakers gone for Oakville-North River on Friday.

And without Gio Rodas and Lewis Koser, the Acorns were already behind the eight-ball on Friday afternoon. They never got out in front in the 1B SWW League contest.

Wahkiakum, one of the premier teams in the 1B ranks this fall, erupted for 52 points in the first half on their way to a 60-6 over the Acorns way on down the road at North River High School.

“I think they did a fantastic job for the circumstances we were in,” ONR head coach Camren Bowes said.

Those circumstances only got worse for the Acorns as the game wore on.
