Lassies looking for consistency

The Kelso girls basketball took a two-footed jump stop in the right direction on Saturday with a 52-46 win at home over Tumwater to open the new year.

That victory brought the Lassies’ non-league schedule to a close with a .500 record that nearly perfectly reflects the uneven start to their season. Those efforts included back-to-back-to-back losses to Juanita (44-35) and Silas (62-48), before rebounding for a 47-37 win over Bainbridge in a holiday tournament at Silas High School to close out 2025. But with 3A Greater St. Helens League play set to start this week, Kelso is hoping to turn the corner sooner than later.

“With Prairie coming in, we’re going to need a complete game,” Kelso head coach Andrew Johnson said. “We haven’t put one together yet, and we will need to put one together.”
