2A Prep Girls Basketball / Roundup

Monarchs’ magic number reaches two

With just three games left in the regular season, the math is simple for the Mark Morris girls basketball team. Win more than they lose and they’ll be champions of the 2A Greater St. Helens League.

“We need to win two of three,” MM head coach Sean Atkins explained. “We hold the tiebreaker over Woodland River.”

Mark Morris suffered its first league loss of 2026 last Friday, falling by three points at Ridgefield. But MM got right back on track and took a big step toward securing the league championship on Wednesday with a 71-53 win at home over Columbia River.
