2B Prep Girls Basketball / Roundup

The final day of the regular season holds significant ramifications for both the Toutle Lake and Toledo girls basketball teams. Hot starts for the Fighting Ducks and Riverhawks have been cooled by a wave of Central 2B League contests that left little room for error.

Now, with both teams sitting at 3-3 in league play and set to play one another in their regular season finale, rights to fourth place in the C2BL hang in the balance in Gateway to The Blast Zone country.

“I feel like the middle of our league is tougher than it has been in the past, but we’re all racing to the finish line,” TL head coach Daren Dean said after a recent league defeat.

The Ducks and ‘Hawks are both coming off of losses in their most recent action, and will be fighting it out for positioning in the 2B District IV Tournament bracket. Interestingly, a win in the opening round would put the No. 4 seed up against the C2BL No. 1 seed (Napavine), while an opening-round win for the No. 5 seed would earn a date with the P2BL No. 1 (Raymond-South Bend or Forks).
