2A Prep Girls Basketball / Roundup

The 2A District IV girls basketball tournament got started on Wednesday with a pair of pigtail games, but our local teams had to bide their time before they could even learn who their first-round opponents would be.

Such is life for teams that take the top-2 seeds out of the 2A Greater St. Helens League.

Mark Morris wound up as the outright champions of the league, hanging a banner for the first time in a decade, and will enter the tournament as a No. 1 seed.

Meanwhile, Woodland dropped its final game of the season at Columbia River and had to watch a coin flip in order to learn its fate. The coin landed tails up for the Beavers to give them second place over the Rapids.
