2A Prep Girls Basketball / Reports

The Woodland girls basketball team saw its season end this week with a pair of losses in the 2A District IV Tournament.

The Beavers had home court advantage in the semifinals on Monday but couldn’t hold their water down the stretch in a 76-46 loss to W.F. West. Then on Wednesday the end of the line arrived for the Beavers when they fell 34-29 to Columbia River in a loser-out contest at Ridgefield.

That loss to the Rapids arrived despite Woodland’s best efforts on the defensive end.

“We’ve got to keep (Gracie) Glavin from going off,” Woodland head coach Glen Flanagan said before the game.

And to that end, the Beavers were successful. Woodland held the 2A Greater St. Helens League MVP to just six points, four of which came in the fourth quarter.
