CHEHALIS — The second day of action at the 2A District IV Girls Golf Tournament was a blustery affair but swirling winds and bouts of late spring rain were not enough to knock a trio of local players off their game. Doing their best to handle whatever Mother Nature threw at them, a pair of Mark Morris Monarchs and a single Woodland Beaver punched their tickets to the state tournament on Wednesday at Riverside Golf Course in The Mint City.
“I don’t think the weather played much of a role,” MM head coach Kim Ulman said. “It was just strange to have two days that were drastically different.”
Mark Morris saw senior Jorie Langenbach finish in fifth place, while freshman Maya Langenbach came in just under the wire in 17th place.
“The girls both played very well on both days considering the circumstances,” Ulman added.”
Woodland Sophomore Alexandria Jackson placed eighth to earn her spot in the 2A State Tournament back at Riverside next week.
