MEMORIAL STADIUM — Playing at their home stadium in a game where they’ll always feels a little bit like the visitors, Mark Morris had something to prove Tuesday night in the season’s second Civil War. And after a 3-1 victory over R.A. Long that included a trio of first half goals, it would appear the Monarchs’ message has been delivered loud and clear.

If not, perhaps this will help.

“I think the girls were just excited and ready to go,” MM head coach Shilah Nickerson said. “There were some comments made after the first game that made them feel like people still though it was a fluke and they wanted to prove that wrong.”
