THE STADIUM — The Mark Morris girls soccer team got off on the right foot, Tuesday, with a 2-0 win over Kelso to open its season at Longview Memorial Stadium.
The non-league contest featured a Monarch goal in each half. Meanwhile, the baby blue defense limited opportunities for their cross-river rivals and came away with a clean sheet victory.
“We’ve worked a lot on possession and just working on playing together as a whole team instead of relying on just one player,” MM head coach Shilah Nickerson said. “I thought that showed tonight with the way they were using the whole field.”
