Onica Chase sends Riverhawks over Pirates

The Toledo girls soccer team proved there was a method to the madness beneath a blazing harvest moon, Monday, with a 1-0 win on the road out in Adna.
After traveling to and fro to play larger schools on enemy turf the entire time the calendar was set on September, the Riverhawks came across unfazed in the heat of a Central 2B League battle against an old rival.
“We’re starting to click, and hopefully we’ll have constant improvement and keep getting better,” told The Chronicle. “I’m happy with our progress. It was a good battle and competitive game tonight.”
The first half nearly slipped by silently and locked in a deadlock. Passes were contested on both sides and the ball remained mostly in the middle third. Toledo had several breakout opportunities, but could not capitalize. And on the other end the Pirates were primarily playing the part of spoiler.
