Sizemore sizzles in the circle and in the box for Tigers

CLATSKANIE — The Clatskanie softball team continued its strong start in 2A/1A District 1 play last week, sweeping Vernonia in a three-game series to improve to 5-1 in league action.

The Tigers opened the series last Wednesday with a 16-3 win in six innings, with the game played at Clatskanie due to inclement weather in Vernonia.

No. 6 Clatskanie (11-5) then finished off the sweep Friday on its home field, taking Game 2, 17-2 in four innings, before rolling to a 22-6 win in three innings in the series finale.

Clatskanie’s offense was steady throughout the week, scoring 55 total runs across the three games.
