Comets mercy rule Quilcene in State opener

Naselle got off to a hot start in the 1B State Tournament on Thursday by posting a 12-1 win over No 10 Quilcene in just five innings of play at the Gateway Sports Complex in Yakima.

That victory moved the No.7 ranked Comets into the quarterfinal round and guaranteed them a spot in the bracket on Saturday. Last week Naselle repeated as District champions.
