Columbians cut out by OSAA seeding committee

RAINIER – The Rainier softball team did nearly everything it could to keep its postseason hopes alive last week.

The Columbians went 2-1 over their final three games, including an upset win over No. 10 Valley Catholic, but the late push was not quite enough to earn an at-large bid into the state playoffs, finishing two spots outside the final bracket.

Rainier opened the week Tuesday with a 13-6 road win over the Portland Adventist Academy (3-15).
