The Clatskanie volleyball team didn’t let a five hour drive slow their roll at all on Friday when they recorded back-to-back wins at Eastern Oregon University to reach the 2A OSAA State Championship round. In fact, they didn’t even need a fifth set to get there.

The Tigers opened the day with a sweep of Myrtle Point, and then re-rematched with their league foes from Portland Christian and emerged with a four-set victory.

But the mission that some said was impossible isn’t finished yet.

“We have earned ourselves a trip to the championship match,” Clatskanie head coach Amanda Baker said.
