Grafton, Hislop star for Kelso in opener

The Hilanders opened the prep volleyball season with a four-set win over Skyview in a 3A/4A Greater St. Helens League match, Tuesday, at Kelso High School. The hosts dropped the first set, but rallied to take the match by scores of 19-25, 25-14, 25-15 and 25-13

Royal Grafton led Kelso with 18 kills. Cora Moore added six kills for the Lassies, while Skylar Richie posted six kills.

Addie Hislop handled the distribution duties with 21 assists and 12 digs in the win. Izzy Moe added 27 digs and three aces as Kelso’s Libero, and Harlee Barnes finished with three aces and 19 service points.

Kelso (1-0) was scheduled to host Olympia on Wednesday. Next week the Lassies are set to play at Tumwater on Tuesday, before hosting Camas on Thursday at 7 p.m.
