The Toledo Riverhawks and Toutle Lake Fighting Ducks are separated on the map by just about a dozen miles of winding country back roads, and they’re even closer than that as the crow flies. And the difference between the two teams appears even slimmer in the Central 2B League volleyball race.
Both the Cheese Town ‘Hawks and the East Cowlitz County Ducks have begun the season by ripping off five straight wins, and the majority of those victories have been in dominant fashion. They are set to square off in the Gateway to The Blast Zone game on Oct. 16 across the Lewis County side of the line.
Not that anyone is getting ahead of themselves in what promises to be a fierce battle for positioning in the C2BL standings.

“Every game for us is a big game as we try to execute and lead with the purpose to win,” Toutle Lake head coach Erika Gould said.
