Holden headlines GNAC champion Wildcats

R.A. Long grad Cavin Holden was a key part of the success of the Central Washington University men's basketball team this season, bringing the Wildcats their second Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular-season title. His efforts didn't go unnoticed as conference coaches selected him the 2025 GNAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year.

Holden, the third player in CWU history to garner the league’s top honor, averaged 14.9 points per game. He reached 20 points in a game on eight occasions, including the final three of the regular season as he finished the campaign strong. Holden's signature performance was a 35-point outburst on 12-for-18 shooting on Jan. 9 against Alaska Fairbanks.

In addition, Holden ranked second in the GNAC with 2.8 made 3-pointers per game, third in 3-point shooting at 45.4 percent, sixth in assists per game at 4.0, and added 1.5 steals per game.

Holden had 14 points and five assists in Central's 72-61 loss to Seattle Pacific in the title game of the GNAC Tournament, but the Wildcats advanced to the NAIA National Championships where they were slated to play Chico State in a first round matchup.
