It's been a successful week of top finishes and school-records for R.A. Long grad Kathryn Chapin, a sophomore student-athlete with the Western Washington University women's track team.

At the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships held in Ellensburg, Chapin twirled the hammer a school-record 186-feet-2, also a personal-best distance, in winning the event. She also heaved the shot put 46-1 1/4 to place second.

Chapin's victory run for the week didn't stop there. At the Emilie Mondor Invitational hosted by Simon Fraser University in Canada, she claimed the shot put with a toss of 46-1 1/2.
