It took former Lower Columbia College player Shakira Nolasco a little more than 90 seconds to get her bearings for Mount Marty University in a recent women’s soccer match with Midland University.

Nolasco converted a feed from another ex-LCC player, Rhyli Grim, as the Lancers rolled to a 3-0 victory in a Great Plains Athletic Conference match in Yankton, S.D. The goal was the first of the season for Nolasco, who also has an assist.

The Lancers took more shots than Midland (17-12), and had more shots on goal (12-8). The victory pushed Mount Marty to 5-3 overall, setting a program record for single-season victories.
