Filla putting in work the Hub City
Toledo's Lyndzie Filla, a freshman volleyball player at Centralia College, was one of eight student-athlete representatives in the Northwest Athletic Association selected to join the 2024-25 NWAC Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
According to the NWAC Website, "The NWAC DEI Committee is committed to developing and fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment within the NWAC, in and out of competition, in the pursuit to be free of bias or favoritism.
"The committee will provide professional development and educational resources for NWAC commissioners, coaches, and student-athletes. It will also identify opportunities to enhance and implement the best DEI practices within the NWAC organization through its governance structure, policies, procedures and processes."
Pilots, Fraley, off to school-best start
The University of Portland women's basketball team, with Kelso's Natalie Fraley, is off to the fastest start in school history following a recent 71-46 triumph over Portland State University.
