It didn’t take freshman Karsyn Ross long to settle into college soccer at Cal Poly Humboldt University in Arcata, California.
Ross, a midfielder, took a feed from Frida Duran Arellano and converted it into a goal, the lone score in a 1-0 victory over Stanislaus State. The score was one of two shots Ross took in the match.

Also in the match, Kelso’s Carson Thomson-Terrel, a senior goalkeeper, had three saves in 45 minutes of work.
Among players in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, Ross is ranked third in shots taken with 41 in 13 matches (3.15 average per match), third in shots on goal with 19 (average of 1.46 per match), and ninth in match-winning goals with two. In goal, Thomson-Terrel is third in goals against average with four in 585 minutes, and third in saves with 20.
