After carding three sub-par rounds, Woodland graduate Dane Huddleston tied for ninth place in the Fallen Oak Invitational men’s golf tournament held at the Beau Rivage Resort in Saucier, Mississippi.
Huddleston, a junior at the University of Illinois, carded rounds of 71-69-70 for a 6-under-par 210 on the par-72 course. Through 54 holes, he carded 10 birdies and had only two bogies.
The University of Alabama and Louisiana State University tied for the team title with identical totals of -32. Illinois was third at -29. The third place showing gives the Illini four top-five team finishes in as many tournaments during the fall slate.
