Mark Morris grad and ex-Lower Columbia College player Kobe Parlin, now a junior guard at Whitworth University, helped the Pirates win the Northwest Conference Tournament, culminating with a 97-87 victory over Willamette University in the title game.
Whitworth (22-5) will face Trinity University of Texas in the opening round of the NCAA Division III men's basketball tournament on Friday at St. Thomas University in Houston. Whitworth is playing in the NCAA Div. III tournament for the 18th time.
In the title game against Willamette, Parlin tossed in 10 points and grabbed two rebounds. In Whitworth's 76-60 win over Lewis and Clark College in the tournament semifinals, Parlin had four points and two assists.
