Local players had no trouble finding the end zone in Spokane for Whitworth and George Fox universities as Deacon Dietz and Karsen Denault scored two touchdowns apiece for their respective teams.

Whitworth celebrated Homecoming 2025 and Family Weekend with a 40-16 victory.

Dietz caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Logan Lacio in the first quarter, and added a 6-yard TD reception from Renat Mamikonyan in the fourth quarter. Dietz, a junior from Mark Morris, caught four passes for 69 yards including a 42-yard toss, and made a solo tackle on defense.

Kelso’s Hunter Letteer, a senior linebacker at Whitworth, made one solo tackle and collected two tackle assists.

Denault, a freshman from Napavine (via Winlock), hauled-in a 29-yard toss from JJ Leman in the second quarter, and snagged a 75-yard TD throw from Leman in the third quarter. He finished with three receptions for 150 yards.

The yardage collected by Denault were the seventh-most receiving yards in a game in school history, and the most since Leon Johnson III in 2022.
