NWAC Softball / Report

TAM O’SHANTER — There’s an elephant in the room. Can you see it? It’s right over there. Don’t look. Leave it alone.

You can’t. You can’t leave it alone. You have to look over there. But there’s an elephant. In the room. Like, what if it gets spooked? It’s an elephant. In a room.

The idea that something is unavoidable and you do everything possible to offer even acknowledgement. Oh my god, three’s an elephant in the room but we have to pretend like there isn’t.

That’s what a long winning streak is. Especially in a sport that doesn’t lends itself to them.

That’s what a 51-game winning streak is.
