The odds were not in Clatskanie’s favor, at least not if the OSAA rankings are to be believed. But out-of-house expectations did not nothing to ease the pain of the Tigers when they fell 65-45 at Central Linn last Friday in the opening round of the 2A State girls basketball tournament.

Whether it was a case of personnel mismatch, or just tired legs after a long bus ride, the Tigers fell behind quickly against the Cobras, trailing 21-13 after the first quarter, and could never get close enough to strike back.

But that doesn’t mean the Clatskanie hoopers didn’t go down swinging in the season-ending loss.
