The grand finale(s) for high school track and field got underway on Thursday with Blast Zone area athletes competing all over the region in an effort to climb the podium and bring a few medals home.

Kelso was well-represented at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma for Day 1 of the 3A WIAA State Track and Field Championships and experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows right out of the gate.
