Castle Rock sticks it to Stevenson

The Rockets picked up a souvenir from the Columbia River Gorge over the weekend and it was even better than a shiny rock or a good walking stick. With four players in double figures the Castle Rock boys basketball team scored an 86-65 victory over Stevenson in 1A Trico League action.

Riley Graunitz led the Rockets with 18 points and five steals.

The Rock came out hot, posting 25 points in the first quarter and taking a 16-point lead. By halftime the visitors had run that advantage up to 46-25. As a team Castle Rock made exactly half of their shots from the field and connected at a 35 percent clip from downtown.
