CHEHALIS – The Toledo Riverhawks entered the 2B District IV Tournament as the No. 3 seed and left the Mint City with the taste of the net in their mouth after coming back to beat Adna 60-59 in overtime for the District title game, Saturday, at W.F. West High School.

“I don’t mind being the underdog and not having that bye,” Toledo coach Grady Fallon said. “I mean you’ve got to win all of your games, but I’d rather play.”

The Riverhawks trailed early, surged ahead late, and then had to dig in defensively in overtime in order to withstand four consecutive out of bounds plays by Adna in the final 20 seconds while clinging to their precious one-point advantage. It was one do-or-die stop after another. One last stand, four times over. The odds were not in Toledo’s favor. But the final score was.
