Unless someone can can come forward to correct the record it would appear R.A. Long made some school history on Saturday when the girls soccer team defeated Tumwater 1-0 at Sid Otton Field in a 2A District IV Tournament do-or-die match.

The victory sends the Lumberjills to the state tournament for a third consecutive season, a feat never before accomplished by Longview’s girls in red and black.

Not only that, but it was the first ever win for R.A. Long coach Taylor Wallace over Tumwater.

“They’ve always had the edge and we’ve always come out of that place empty handed,“ R.A. Long coach Taylor Wallace said.
