The Lumberjills got even with Hockinson with a 3-0 win over the Hawks, Tuesday, in 2A Greater St. Helens League girls soccer action at Longview Memorial Stadium.

The victory for R.A. Long avenged a 3-2 loss at Hockinson way back on Sept. 26 that was decided on penalty kicks. The win also put the Jills in position to lock down third place in the league standings and home field advantage in the playoffs.

“The girls wanted to prove that the first meeting with Hockinson was the exception, not the rule,” RAL coach Taylor Wallace said. “We had to claw and scrap our way to a tie after a few early mistakes in the first match, and we had to make sure that we’d learned our lesson.”
