Mark Morris, Henthorn, hammer Evergreen
The Monarchs put the whammy on Evergreen last week in a non-league softball affair, winning 14-1 in Vancouver on Wednesday. Makenzie Henthorn led Mark Morris with two home runs and four runs batted in.
Mark Morris led just 1-0 after two innings, and then turned the diamond into its personal Blast Zone with 11 runs in the top of the third. The Monarchs finished the game with 13 hits as a team.
“We started out a little slow at the plate in the first two innings but the defense was stellar,” MM coach Chris Mejia said. “Kenzie also proved hard work in the off season on both sides of the ball pays off with her offensive explosion.”
