Toutle Lake’s Dean, Castle Rock’s Kleine shine at Mountaineer Icebreaker
RAINIER, WA — A handful of local track and field teams strayed out of Loowit Country last weekend in order to get their seasons started in the shadow of that overgrown sister peak they used to call Mount Tahoma. And of the nearly two dozen teams in attendance, it was the ash plastered towns of Toutle Lake and Castle Rock who represented The Blast Zone the best.
Toutle Lake’s Lainey Dean won multiple events and medaled four times, Casie Kleine of Castle Rock picked up a first-place finish of her own and a couple other medals in the season-opening Rainier Icebreaker.
