Fighting Fowl: Toutle Lake takes out Winlock with the quickness

A Baden volleyball ties to steal some of the spotlight from its more famous cousin, Wilson.

The Toutle Lake volleyball team made its way to the Egg City and rolled off with a quick three-set victory over Winlock, Thursday. The Fighting Ducks took the Central 2B League affair by scores of 25-12, 25-7 and 25-11.

The Ducks are battling for a playoff spot in the home stretch of the regular season and the sweep over the Cardinals will go a long way toward setting them up a little prettie for the postseason. That effort began with the basics, including a recommitment to steady play at the service stripe.

“Kendall Dean was the hot server of the night with 22 of 22 serving, 17 points and six ace serves,” Toutle Lake coach Erika Gould said.
