Comets get over Ocosta in do-or-die match

The Naselle volleyball team had little margin for error Friday night in a loser-out/winner-to-State contest against Ocosta at Raymond High School in the 1B District IV Tournament. Turns out the Comets didn’t even need that much wiggle room, turning in a four-set win over the No. 1 seeded Wildcats by scores of 25-16, 25-21, 16-25, and 25-12.

Mylinh Schell led the Comets with 21 assists and 26 digs, while Mylee Dunagan posted a team-high 15 kills.

“We showed up with positive, fiery energy. Confident and swinging,” Naselle coach Rebekah Wirkkala said. “Our bench and crowd were electric, our entire community showed up for our girls and I am so incredibly proud to be a Naselle Comet!”
