RIDGEFIELD — Amidst the crowds of parents and fans, pleads and hollers from the public address announcer to keep stray tennis shoes off the mats, and the hundreds of athletes from all over Washington and Oregon grappling for glory, two local girls managed to deliver first-place finishes, Saturday, at the Pac Coast Wrestling Championships at the Clark County Fairgrounds.

The two-day tournament featured wrestlers from Castle Rock, Woodland, Kalama and Toledo, with more than 60 schools represented in total.

And at the end of the marathon on the mats, it was Woodland’s Couly McReynolds and Castle Rock’s Kadence Neumeyer who found themselves atop the podium in their respective weight classes to set the standard across the Blast Zone.
